The Western Ghats that run parallel to India’s Western Coast are recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and are in the top hot-spots of biodiversity in the world. This campsite is situated at Bari village, at the base of the highest peak in Maharashtra, Kalsubai Рallowing visitors to interact and engage with the local flora and fauna as well as the unique local culture of the region.

At this campsite, you will engage with the locals and learn about their lifestyle and their culture. As such, tents will be set up in the village itself. Food served will be authentic and organic, home made by the local inhabitants of the village.

About our local expert – Balu Khade
Balu is a resident of the beautiful and picturesque Bari village, located right at the base of Kalsubai peak. He has years of expertise climbing the Kalsubai peak and has a wealth of knowledge regarding local flora and fauna. Spending a day with him will transform your view on life in the Western Ghats.
